Travel

Second to writing, I love to travel. I’ve had some pretty interesting experiences in the process of traveling and at the places we have visited.

Besides most of the United States, we have traveled the western half of Canada, South America (Ecuador, Paraguay, and Brazil), Europe (Spain, Austria, Switzerland), and Asia (Russia and Ukraine). Some places we were there for only a day or two, but others it was for a week or more. Sometimes it was for pleasure; sometimes for mission trips.

The mission trips involved teaching in a Bible college, leading parents’ forums, leading children’s programs in orphanages, in backyards and in schools, and doing construction and remodel work. It was a learning experience for us in many of the situations, and hopefully, a helpful experience for those receiving the work. One has to go on these trips with a humble attitude to learn and not to tell people to do things my way because that’s the way it’s done in my culture. There is a lot of learning when interacting with other cultures.

If you want to read more about my travels, visit my Travel category. I will be adding to my posts from time to time.

Marilynn

Was raised in the Mennonite community. She can trace her roots way back to the 1700’s in Prussia. Marilynn, as a history buff, has always been curious about the trip her ancestors took from Prussia to Southern Russia (Ukraine) and what they could have encountered between the two points. Marilynn has done an incredible amount of research to discover the political and social climate of the day and is attempting to put it in fiction story form for other readers to enjoy.

Marilynn invites you to join her on this journey of discovery.
