Health and Fitness

In 2018 I was given the opportunity to be a part of a study group for the purpose of lowering A1C and losing weight. That was the beginning of a great adventure.

I topped the scales at 198 pounds and had problems with falling arches, a tight Achilles tendon, and a tight IT band. My clothes were also tight. I felt miserable. I could not keep up with others on a long walk. My A1C was labeled as pre-diabetic.

The study group used the diet and exercise program from Omada Health (www.https://go.omadahealth.com/). This program included weekly lessons, daily access to a personal health coach, and a suggested diet and exercise program. I believe it was the constant access to the health coach that helped me the most to achieve success.

Now I have lost over 35 pounds and am more physically fit and stronger than I have been in years. I have gotten to the point where I love exercise (even the more advanced routines), and I love vegetables, all because they just make me feel good. My A1C has come down into the normal range, and I have been able to go off my cholesterol medication (an added benefit).

I want to pass on the benefits of what I learned to any of you who are struggling. I know what it’s like to try and try and see no results. I was up and down on different diets all my life. I want to help. Please check out my blogs in my Health and Fitness category. I will be passing on lessons I’ve learned from Omada and other tidbits I’ve learned along the way. Let me know how I can help you.

But, more importantly, I want to be spiritually fit. We do that by “eating” – reading God’s Word, “breathing” – praying, and “exercising” – telling others about Christ. I will be writing about things I learned along the way about my Spiritual Fitness.

Tell me about the challenges you face in trying to be physically or spiritually fit. Use the comment box to start a conversation with me.

Hello,

I’m Marilynn

God knew me before the world was even created. He planned for me and created me in my mother’s womb. He caused many experiences, past and present, to weave into my life. I can trace my roots as far back as the Mennonites in the Reformation. This rich history makes me the person I am today. And God is still working on me. He will not give up teaching me new things until I see Him in glory.

I invite you to join me on this journey of development.
