Spiritual Awareness

“You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries. The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God.” (Psalm 68.35)

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” (Romans 11:33 ESV)

“And (in heaven) they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!” (Revelation 15.3)

“Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” (John 21.25)

God is awesome. His wisdom is beyond understanding. It will take a lifetime and all of eternity to understand His ways.

He has done great things in the world in past generations, and he is doing great things now in this present generation, and he will continue to do great things in succeeding generations. We can trust him. He is in control.

Trusting God you will experience some real adventures. God is not tame, he brings us through challenges! Think of the challenge presented to Abraham. God did not tell him where he was going, he just said, “Follow me.” Think about Moses, who God stretched to his limits, leading millions of people through the desert. Think about Daniel and his three friends. They didn’t go to Babylon to play cricket. They faced fire and lions and came through unscathed. Think about the disciples on the boat in the middle of Galilee with the storm beating upon them, and Jesus is calmly sleeping at the back of the boat! In every circumstance God asked His people to trust Him. He had everything under control.

Sometimes, when trials come, we lamely say, “I’ll pray for you.” If we knew the power we are tapping into when we pray, we would more boldly and confidently say, “I’ll pray for you!” God leads his people to the brink to let us know we can trust him. He delights in caring for us, and He can take care of the worst of situations. He brings us through adventures we would never think of on our own. And he comes through with us. In fact, he is there ahead of us to greet us when we get to the end of the course.

If we would think of our trials as adventures more of the time, just think about what our faith would be like and what a relief it would be to know that this is just another adventure. Let’s hang on! God will bring us through.

God truly had adventure in mind as He brought me through various travel experiences. Check out my Awesome God category and my “Travel” blogs (specifically, The World’s Most Unlucky Traveler) to read about these experiences. Also, trying to understand what God is saying or doing brings us to Biblical Insights and we can trust God’s Promises.

Hello,

I’m Marilynn

God knew me before the world was even created. He planned for me and created me in my mother’s womb. He caused many experiences, past and present, to weave into my life. I can trace my roots as far back as the Mennonites in the Reformation. This rich history makes me the person I am today. And God is still working on me. He will not give up teaching me new things until I see Him in glory.

I invite you to join me on this journey of development.
